It is apparent that Hale is taking after his father, as he has learned at a young age to give kisses! Watch out next time you hold him - he's bound to plant a big wet one on your cheek, chin or even smack on the lips!

It's season premier week and with that comes our weekly Friends Night! Hale is excited to hang out with the boys tonight...Jackson, Ian and Brooks. What a crew!

Hale's first bachelor party??

Yes, it's true...Hale attended his first bachelor party last night! Actually, it was a co-bachelor/bachelorette party, but Hale was definitely getting more attention than the bride and groom-to-be. As you can imagine, Kevin and I were the only ones who showed up with a kid, and we were the first to leave, but it we like to think we are setting a good example for our friends that kids like to get out of the house every now and then, too, rather than finding a babysitter at every opportunity!

To Hale's grandparents:

Don't worry - we made our exit before the REAL party started!

The REAL story...

Actually, poor Shelby was in "pre-labor" for about a week. How soon we forget about the uncomfortable few days leading up to delivery!! She was a real trooper and we're so proud of her.

Along came a little Longenbaugh

Tuesday night, after (a mere) three hours of labor, Shelby and Kent had a bouncing baby boy!

At 9:48pm, Tuesday, September 3rd, Brooks Kenton was born. He weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce and was 21-1/2 inches long. He is a little slice of heaven, with light complexion and his mother's nose. Thank the Lord for a safe and speedy delivery!

Congratulations, Kevin!

Just wanted to share a bit of good news with you all. Kevin interviewed for and was offered a full-time position with Whitley County Consolidated Schools! Up until now, he has been working there on a consultant basis, and while that worked out well for us this past year, a regular position affords him a greater degree of job security. We feel so fortunate for this opportunity. Thank you to all who have kept us in your thoughts and prayers throughout this situation. Yeah, Kevin!!!!

Site outage

Jill and I had a wonderful weekend at her parents' home - enjoying the Labor day hiatus. While there, we noticed that the website was also on hiatus thanks to a power outage on Friday night. Apparently after the lights went out, everything came back up properly - everything but our DSL modem. Monday night when we got home I turned the modem off and on and everything went right back to normal.

I hope everyone had as relaxing a weekend as we did. It was great to see Nana and Grandbud, G.G. and Jason, Jeremy and Bailey, Shelli and Jim, and Brooke and Jon. I hope Jamie and Ryan had a great anniversary on Monday and to everyone - have a great week!
