Time for a joke

A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack.

"Miss Whack, I'd like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday."

Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows the bank manager.

Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral.

The frog says, "Sure . I have this," and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed.

Very confused, Patty explains that she'll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office.

She finds the manager and says, " There's a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral."

She holds up the tiny pink elephant. "I mean, what in the world is this?"

The bank manager looks back at her and says ...

"It's a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man's a Rolling Stone."

Mercury Transit 2006

It has been over 3 years since I posted a link about Mercury's 2003 transit across the face of the Sun and it continues to be one of the pages with the most traffic in our archive of posts. As I said back then, this matter of perspective will happen 12 times this century and time número dos is coming up tomorrow.

You can check out the SOHO photos at this website.

For some reason StuffIt Expander (the program that uncompresses .sit files) stopped working on my computer at work. So, since it is a 'free' download, I went off to the Apple Downloads site which linked to StuffIt BUT... they are requiring me to insert an email address, which I don't like to do. I don't like to do this because I know all they want that email for is to send me things that I don't want to get. All I want is for their program to function as intended, and really, as Apple intended it to work.*

i did give them my email, but I don't think you have to. If you want to download the disk image to install StuffIt Expander, just head on over to this webpage.

*In StuffIt's defense, it may have something to do with the disk image I am using that was orginally on an iMac G3 and is now on a PowerMac G4.

I've uploaded some pictures from Addi's Birthday last month and my Father's Birthday this month into the albums section of the website. Take a look.

I also snapped a few pictures around the house including this picture of Hale in his mother's arms. Our kids seem to have a photogenic quality that was lost on me!
