Dear Rabbi, Tell Me About Jesus

Dear Rabbi

As part of the book, Strobel’s The Case for Christ, which we are reading in small group at church the idea of an Adverse Witness came up in reference to those alive at the time of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ who would have contradicted the Gospel account. Of course the first group I thought of were the Jewish people of that day. Which got me thinking, what do Jewish writings from after the resurrection say about Him?

In that search, which turned up some interesting reading I came across this: Dear Rabbi, Tell Me About Jesus. The page relates a series of letters written to and from a Jewish man in the 1970s and his Rabbi. It wasn’t an emotionally satisfying series in the sense that consensus was reached among what is “true” but it is interesting to read.

Ever since I participated in a study of the book of Daniel I have had an enhanced view of the Jewish heritage. What an honor to be part of God’s chosen people! Beth Moore, the woman presenting the Daniel study, really makes an interesting mental image of the Jewish people being “on hold” at Heaven’s switchboard during this current period — and that God is poised to pick up the line with them again!
