Predictions come true

This is just an update to Kevin's January 1st entry, namely his predictions.

+ We DO have grass in our front yard now...no more mounds of mud! Thanks go to our great friend, Jeremy Freeman for improving the view!!

+ Kevin and I DID go to Eddie Merlot's last week to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful gesture on Kevin's part to make reservations and take me out, but we both agree that this place does not live up to the hoopla. We prefer a more down-to-earth atmosphere (and menu prices)!

- Sydney's hair looks like it might be curling up...sorry, Kev. I guess this proves you're not really pyschic.

How long's it been?

Sad to say, I just checked the website and noticed Kevin's entry from last month...has it really been that long since I last visited? Well, yes. It has been TOO long, but I'm going to take this opportunity - while Kevin is sitting in a hotel room in Omaha, Nebraska and while our three beautiful babies are soundly sleeping in their beds - to make note of things I think are worthy of this public forum (wasn't that Kevin's terminology?).

First of all, we began this website a little more than five years ago, as we were preparing for our first bundle of joy to arrive. It is almost impossible to believe that Hale will turn five next week and will begin kindergarten in three months! He is suffering from the "I wants" and much of that list consists of anything Spiderman, NASCAR or Hotwheels. He is the sweetest almost-five-year-old boy I've ever encountered, standing in as my "protector" when Kevin is out of town. He brings a smile to my face every time he greets his littlest sister with "How's my little girl?" and "Addi, you're cute AND cool." For those of you who haven't heard the good news, Hale is engaged to his best friend, Gracie; they are going to get married after Hale plays football at Purdue and becomes an astronaut.

A-D-D-I. Addi finally figured out that it's not spelled A-D-D-D-D-I. Kevin has cracked her code and somehow has her learning her alphabet and numbers. She really is a smart little thing, she just wants us to work for it! Her obsession with horses continues and she is looking forward to all the summer horse shows across the street at the fairgrounds. PaPo introduced her to the world of horse racing, appropriate considering she says she wants to be a "horsie rider" when she grows up. I can't tell you how many little toy horses she has around the house, but I CAN tell you how many of them are named Spirit....ALL OF THEM! Addi is our beauty and she just cracks us up every day!

Miss Sydney, everyone's ray of sunshine at the ripe old age of (almost) five months! We all just love her so much and it's no wonder -- she is so easygoing and happy. Sydney officially became Addi's roommate earlier this week and so far it has been a smooth transition. Addi loves having someone in her room (which of course has prompted Hale to want "someone special" to share his room as well). The only problem was making room for two girls in Addi's closet! I can only imagine the battles that are to come!

Kevin and I just wrapped up leading an 11-week course at our church called Starting Point geared towards starters, seekers and returners to the Christian faith. It was a great experience for us, and now we are looking forward to reuniting with the small group that we previously led. Kevin will be co-leading that group with our good friend Dave through the summer. In about three weeks I will be wrapping up the Wednesday evening Bible study that I lead, and with our Sunday night activities on hiatus for the summer as well, we are looking forward to more free time for a few months so that we can re-charge our batteries and celebrate seven awesome years of marriage!

On the agenda for this summer includes the Second Semi-Annual Cousins Campout. We have planned a HUGE surprise feature to this event, an outdoor screening of a movie at dusk. I'm pumped about this, as I think all the kids (minus Sydney and Tucker) will get a big kick out of it. For those of you who may have lost count, here's the list of "cousins" that make up the Jordan family: Tyler, 11; Kaylea, (almost)11; Ryan, (almost) 8; Spencer (almost) 8; Emma, 7; Hale, (almost) 5; Brayden (almost) 5; Jarrett, 3 1/2; Addison, 3 1/2; Tucker, 8 months; Sydney, (almost) 5 months.

Also on the agenda for our kids: swimming lessons and Zoo Camp.

I guess that's enough catching up for one sitting. Here's to Summer '07.
