Reid Sophia

I promised a story and photos soon, and it has since been three and a half weeks since Reid's arrival! Time flies with all these kids moving around!!

I was admitted to the hospital shortly after midnight on January 21st. We began the initial induction process at about 1:00 a.m., and I immediately began contracting quite vigorously!! I received an epidural at around 4:00 a.m. (I think...my memory of the timeline is a bit vague). Unfortunately, the epidural was on a "push button" which the nurse was apparently unfamiliar with, so my pain relief was very short-lived! My water partially broke on its own, and around 8:00 or maybe a little after, the nurse finished the job per doctor's orders. Well, that did it -- Reid was on the move at that point! She was so quick, in fact, the doctor was in the parking lot when she was born, on his way up to my room! My attending nurse was absolutely fantastic, very calm. We found out afterwards that she had never delivered a baby on her own before, but you never would've known that from her actions! I'm very thankful for the smooth delivery...one push and our beautiful Baby Reid was here!

Reid Sophia weighed in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces (a great size, especially considering she was born three weeks early), and she was 19.5 inches long. Dark blue eyes (for now!) and some brown hair, a double chin and chubby cheeks! She's a doll, and we love her to pieces!
