Big day coming up

Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.

That's how I've been feeling lately. The good Lord has been watching over Jill and I and it is through His grace that things are working out as they are in our lives. As many of you know, a year ago I lost my job suddenly -- only a few weeks after finding out Jill was pregnant with Hale. It was at that time that I really felt lost in life, unsure of where we would end up and how ends would be met.

As sometimes happens, the path your life is meant to take ends up being the one furthest from your expectations. A job opportunity was made available to me the very next week and things have been stable ever since.

Coming up December 1, we will be: accepted as members, baptized into the family of God, and offering Hale for dedication into the family of believers. It's such a wonderful opportunity to be able to witness to Hale and our community by proclaiming our beliefs! It was those hard times that opened up our minds and hearts to a new church and new friends.

In the next week or two I want to write a little about our experiences during the "40 days of purpose" that we have been a part of at church, as well as a devotional book I've been reading. Please look forward to that!

WOW!!! To read those words just leaves me speechless!! We serve an awesome God!

Do you know the song entitled "Surely the Presence of the Lord is in this place"?? It's a great song! I'm looking forward to hearing about the "40 days of purpose".

Yep, I know that song. That's what I was quoting. Speaking of: I love those old church songs! They are the basic bread and butter that serve as the foundation of my Christian nutrition.

On a related note, I can still remember being upstairs at the First Presbyterian Church in Frankfort singing, "Deep and wide, deep and wide, there's a fountain flowing deep and wide..." (I think we even sang it in German a few times.)

I love those memories!
