A few months back, Kevin was asking me if we were going to register for baby gifts for this child like we did before Hale was born, and if people would have baby showers for us again. The answer to both of those questions, of course, is no (much to Kevin's disappointment...I think he enjoyed using the scanner at the baby store when we registered for Hale). So we were quite pleasantly surprised and touched when we received baby gifts last night at a shower that we hosted for two other pregnant couples!!! It certainly was not the receiving of gifts that was so heart-warming to me, but the fact that these friends of ours wanted to do something special for our new baby. So when he/she starts complaining in a few years about how Hale got everything and the second child always gets the shaft, I'm going to bring up the story of what occurred last night.

Thank you Brady & Shawna (& Emily) and Chuck & Erin (& Evan) for the generous gifts that you "showered" us with. And best wishes to all of you as you welcome your first little ones into the world in a few weeks! We are looking forward to being parents with you!
