Turning the other cheek

It happened last Sunday, but not since - Hale flopped over twice from his stomach to his back in a spectacular show of strength and agility. Or it may have been a fluke; he hasn't done it since. Regardless, his mommy and daddy are proud of him!

Way to go, Floppy McTurnover! (aka Hale)

Big boy

Well, it happened already. Our little -big- boy has moved out of his basinet in our room. Now he has his own room, and his own bed, er.. crib. Tuesday night Jill decided it was time and we changed sleeping arrangements, not knowing who would cry first. Well, it wasn't quite that tramatic, but our room did seem emptier. It was kind of sad.

We still keep an ear on him with the baby monitor, and he is doing so well. He's a cutie, no doubt about it. Any of you remember making this transition? Please tell us about it.

Lots of new pictures!

Well, we just got two rolls of pictures developed - and twenty-two made the grade. Check out On the Porch and Firsts, Etcetera.

On a side note, I think we need a digital camera. Scanning the pictures has become a labor of love. Anyone have a digital camera that they would recommend? Post a comment and let us know about it!

New look

As of this morning, things look different around the website. The dogs weren't getting enough attention, so I decided to put a big picture of them on the top of every page. Do you think it will make them feel better? I doubt it. What has made them feel better is a visit from Jill's parents - the dogs love them! But I digress...

What hasn't changed: the picture albums and calendar are still here. Take a look.

What's new: the journal you are reading, and the archives of all past entries - of which there aren't many. You can also post comments if you want.

Have a great day!

Good sleeper

As our house is filled with the sweet sound of a baby's cry, I am thankful for two things: Hale's naps, and Jill's hard work. I expected to be a zombie at this point - Hale is 2 1/2 weeks old - but sleeping is basically business as usual. Jill can't say the same, but I think she would say that in general things are going great!

Thanks for all the calls and visits! Don't stop!

Our baby boy's vital statistics:

name: Hale Aaron Jordan

born: 8:41 PM, May 23rd, 2002 (due May 21st)

weight: 8 pounds, 11 ounces

height: 20-3/4 inches

How it happenned

With our due date passed on Tuesday, we checked into Dupont Hospital Wednesday evening and prepared for a busy Thursday. Awake at 5:15 AM, Jill began the induction at 6 o'clock. Labor began shortly thereafter. Almost 15 hours later our baby boy was born.

God did surely have His hand on the delivery as Hale came into this world.

Thank all of you who have called or stopped by. We look forward to all of you having a part of our son's new life.
